"Installed at the factory level by Ford, Freightliner, Caterpillar, Toyota
and other manufacturers"

Introducing the best way to change oil, the Revolutionary Fumoto Oil Drain Valve.

Install this valve and you can drain your engine oil without tools and without mess. Just lift the lever of this solid brass ball valve and give it a quarter turn to open it. Return the lever to its original position and it locks closed, double sealed to prevent leakage.

The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve is made of corrosion resistant forged brass and stainless steel. The ball valve design provides a straight flow for efficient drainage and a perfect seal when closed. Frozen drain plug and stripped threads are eliminated forever. Drawing samples for oil analysis is as easy as one-two-three.

Our small valves come in 3 different types. Choosing a particular type will depend on your clearance and whether or not you want or need to connect a hose to the valve.

Standard type (e.g. F-103)
The standard type is the lowest profile type (protrudes approx. 20mm). If you drop your oil straight down into a container, this is the best choice. You would also choose the standard valve for most passenger cars that are low to the road for best clearance.

N-Series (e.g. F103N)
The N-series protrudes from the sump the most (approx. 40mm). It has a long nipple designed to attach a hose. You would choose an N-series valve if you had sufficient clearance and/or your sump is protected by a cover or guard. Some customers, in particular 4wd owners, choose the N-series and leave a hose permanently connected. Often there is enough space to activate the Fumoto valve without removing the guard.

S-Series (e.g. F103S)
The S-series is a relatively new design. It features a shorter nipple for improved clearance. Hoses do not attach well directly to the short nipple, so an extra attachment (SH-10) is supplied with each S-series valve to securely attach a hose. The extra attachment is designed to clip on and off the Fumoto valve.

NEW SX-Series (e.g. F106SX)
The SX-series is a new design. It has two parts and is designed to clear recesses without the use of an adaptor. More info here.

The N-SERIES valve is equipped with a nipple to enable the operator to attach a hose and drain the engine oil out of tight spots.

Like the standard Fumoto Oil Drain Valve, this spring assisted ball valve replaces the standard oil drain plug making oil changes easier, cleaner and faster. The N-SERIES Engine Oil Drain Valve takes the mess out of routine maintenance.

The nipple is NOT detachable.

Due to the extended length, N-SERIES valves are not recommended for vehicles with very low ground clearance. Please ensure there is enough distance from the ground.

The S-SERIES valve has a short nipple and removable plastic barb attachment.

The S-series is a better alternative for vehicles that have less clearance, but still require the attachment of a hose.

S-series are only available in our smaller valves.

All S-series valves come with one SH-10 attachment.

Some vehicles require an adaptor to install the Fumoto valve. You will require an adaptor, when your sump drain hole is recessed - the lever of the Fumoto valve hits the sump and does not allow it to screw into the drain hole. In this case, an adaptor (which is really just an extension) will allow it to tighten all the way down.

The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve has been tested and granted "Genuine Parts" status by six major motor vehicle manufacturers in Japan, including Toyota ,Nissan ,Mazda ,Mitsubishi ,Subaru and Isuzu. These approvals were not granted easily and gaining them was a testimony to the quality and durability of Fumoto Oil Drain Valve.

In the United States, the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve is being installed at the factory level on some of the vehicles/equipment made by Ford, Kohler, Freightliner, Caterpillar, JLG, GEHL, Ingersoll-Rand, Sullair, Toyota, Case, Magnetek, Timberjack, Lincoln Electric, Vermeer, Baldor, Terex, Deutz and Phaser Marine Generator.

"We use them on everything with an engine,
even our forklifts,
and we have for ten years now
...I'm not aware of any failures,
that's just not been an issue."

Please take care when dealing with hot oil and hot engine parts.

  1. Use a rag to clean around your drain plug to remove any dirt and grime.

  2. Remove your standard drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container. Ensure you have also removed the crush washer (if your drain plug uses one).

  3. Apply a thin film of oil to both sides of the supplied gasket.*

  4. Install your Fumoto valve and tighten until hand tight, making sure the supplied gasket* or a new crush washer is used.

  5. Using a suitable open-ended spanner, tighten by a further 1/8 to 1/4 turn. See recommended torque specifications below. Do not overtighten.

  6. Open and close your Fumoto valve a few times to check the operation and to familiarise yourself with how it works.

  7. Make sure your Fumoto valve is in the closed (locked) position.

  8. Refill your crankcase with the correct grade of oil.

  9. Check for leaks.

*Some valves (i.e. T-200, T201, T-202, F-110) do not require gasket as they are self-tightening tapered threads.

NOTE: Some oil pans are designed with a recessed drain hole which may prevent the valve from being installed properly. If the valve can not be seated all the way without hitting the oil pan wall, do not install the Drain Valve to your vehicle. Adaptors are available for some models.

1. To open lift control lever and turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees.
2. To close simply turn the lever clockwise 90 degrees until locked in original position.

For added piece-of-mind, we now carry LC-10 (small valves F-101 to F-111) locking clips.
For large valves (FG and T series valves) use LC-15.
These are optional and not required for most situations.

Note, in normal driving conditions, the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve's double locking mechanism cannot unintentionally open due to vibration or shock.

Q. Is the nipple detachable on the N-series and S-series?

No, you cannot remove the nipple without damaging the valve.

Also, you cannot add a nipple to the non-nippled type.

Q. Is my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve going to leak?

No. The "ball valve" design of your Engine Oil Drain Valve is just like the design of valves used in pressurised gas applications. Every valve is constructed to exacting specifications and each and every valve is tested for air tightness before it leaves the factory. The Fumoto Oil Drain Valve has been tested and granted "Genuine Part" status by six major motor vehicle manufacturers in Japan. These approvals were not granted easily and gaining them was a testimony to the quality and durability of the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve.

Q. Will my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve open up while I am on the road?
No. The valve's simple but effective locking system requires two distinct actions to open it and its heavy-duty construction will withstand any engine or vehicle vibration. Over 3,500,000 Fumoto Oil Drain Valves have been sold in the past twenty years and no problems have been reported.

Q. Does my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve protrude into the interior of the oil pan and prevent full drainage of my engine oil?

The threaded oil drain plug hole is always reinforced to accept the threaded bolt of the drain plug. Your Engine Oil Drain Valve will not significantly extend past this threaded portion of the drain hole.
The any remaining oil is negligible in relation to what is left in the top of the motor and other areas within the engine.
Additionally, your Fumoto Oil Drain Valve will allow you to drain your engine oil whilst it is hotter and thinner, giving better drainage, all without burning your hands.

Q. How long will my Fumoto Oil Drain Valve last?

Your Fumoto Oil Drain Valve is constructed of corrosion resistant forged brass and stainless steel.
To gain the approval of motor vehicle manufacturers, it was subjected to -40°C temperature, endured 336 hours of salt spray, thousands of openings and closings and still functioned perfectly. You can expect your Fumoto Oil Drain Valve to outlast your engine.

Q. How much does the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve stick out from the oil pan?

The Drain Valve for passenger cars and light trucks is approximately 20mm thick. In its closed position the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve extends from the oil pan only about 10mm more than a standard oil drain plug. Many drain holes are angled, so the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve does not protrude significantly in the vertical direction.
The sump pan is generally not the lowest part of the vehicle.

Q. How long has the Fumoto Valve been around?
A. The Fumoto Valve has been selling worldwide for over 20 years.
This in itself shows its reliability and performance.
Primarily used in heavy industry, it is only recently that the Fumoto Valve has been marketed to the general public.
